The M10 Workhorse yeast was a general purpose/all rounder and non specific yeast.
This yeast was no longer required once we redeveloped our range to include a wider variety of more specific, characteristic yeasts which allow brewers to make a winder range of distinctive beer styles which are more true to style.
- For ales brewed with a more neutral character, such that would be produced using M10 we would recommend using M42 New World Strong Ale yeast. Another yeast to try would be M36 Liberty Bell which will give a slightly more fruity, estery character.
- For brewing ambient-fermented lager styles (sometimes known as 'pseudo-lagers' due to being brewed with neutral character ale strains to give a clean, lager-like taste) we would recommend M54 Californian Lager yeast.
Check out the full range here. You will get a much better result with a new strains specific to the style of beer you are brewing rather than the one all rounder.
